International Women’s Day Gallery Takeover with HXR FEST
An all day festival
Join us for a special HXR Fest takeover in celebration of International Women’s Day – a full‑day journey through visual art, sound, film, and community storytelling. This immersive event brings together artists, archives, and collectives who spotlight women‑led creativity and culture.
The day begins with a soft opening of the gallery, giving guests the chance to experience the exhibition in a calm, reflective setting. Explore a curated archival selection by Rasmi Archive and a pop‑up reading room from PRIM, the Black Queer Library Collective, offering space to browse, read, and discover powerful narratives at your own pace.
In the afternoon, the event shifts into a deeper exploration with a workshop or facilitated session. This portion of the day will focus on women-led culture, creativity and community – creating space for conversation, expression, and shared insight.
As the evening unfolds, the atmosphere transforms. The gallery exhibition remains open alongside a lively DJ set curated by Sunaya, representing Rasmi Archive and known for co-founding Azeema Magazine. Expect an energising, music-led environment celebrating the day’s themes through sound, screenings, and a vibrant gallery party. The event will also be include a dynamic audio-visual contribution from Olivia Ema, adding depth and sensory immersion throughout the programme.
From quiet contemplation to collective celebration, this takeover invites guests to engage with women’s stories, support creative communities and experience a unique cultural moment from morning to night.
