Screening: One Battle After Another
Curated by Gabriel Dedji
Join us for a very special screening of One Battle After Another- a modern epic exploring the complexities of family, identity and revolution.
This evening will be complemented by a conversation between Edward Adonteng and Nubia Assata- two public intellectuals who will investigate the controversies surrounding this film: its presentation of black women, its historical/cultural references and the lessons its trying to convey. You will be able to take part in this conversation too, offering your thoughts and interpretations on this polarising work of art. If you’ve had burning thoughts on this film, this is perfect for you. If you’ve never seen this film before, it will also be the perfect place for you to discover it anew.
Taking place in our screening room. you will be immersed in a comfortable and warm environment, engaging in riveting conversations with friends, family and strangers. There will be soulful sounds provided by Home Radio- a South London community organisation who platform local talents, dancefloor anthems and archival media.
This event has been curated by Gabriel Dedji- a writer, curator and musician from North London.
