Shoreditch Art Gallery
At the art’otel London Hoxton Gallery, we are dedicated to building a community of creators. We create a space where people can tell their stories, and we view life as an ongoing journey of learning. We honour every opportunity, respect every point of view, and cherish every story. Our mission is to Create, Curate, and Activate a vibrant and inclusive artistic environment. Members of the public, as well as guests of the hotel, are able to discover the exhibition space too – adding to Hoxton’s rich and cultural arts scene.
Current Exhibition: Selfsame curated by Zoë Goetzmann
Selfsame is a group exhibition curated by Zoë Goetzmann that explores the tension between individuality and collective identity among women artists. Inspired by the Shakespearean phrase “To thine own self be true”, the show reflects on the shared experience of being perceived as ‘the same’ while celebrating the multiplicity, nuance, and autonomy of each artist’s voice. To be selfsame is not to be identical, but to remain wholly oneself—again and again.
