> Artist in Residence
As part of our core commitment to the arts and to the local community we host an Artist in Residency programme, offering opportunities for up and coming talented artists to take residency in our Studio. Sharing their artistic practices with culture hunters from around the globe and leading immersive workshops to create unforgettable creative experiences.
In the Studio with Ekaterina Adelskaya
Ekaterina Adelskaya is a London-based artist with Russian and Ukrainian roots. Working across sculpture, installation, and video, her practice explores the intersections between memory, materiality, and transformation.
During the residency, Ekaterina will explore the embroidery hoop as a space for redefinition, engaging with an object historically linked to domestic labour and the feminine sphere. Working with second-hand clothing, fabrics, and pigments, she replaces conventional stitching with gestures of burning, piercing, and cutting.
Ekaterina will taking over the residency from 2nd March – 30th April.
Upcoming Artist in Residence
Chloé Valorso is a Spirit Artist Jeweller. Trained at Central Saint Martins and the Royal College of Art, she explores the symbolic and energetic relationship between body, material, and environment. Working primarily with metal and stone through techniques such as lost-wax casting and carving, her practice merges ancestral craft with surrealist assemblage
During the residency, she will combine carved stones with sculptural wax carving and lost-wax casting to create a new series of jewellery-sculptures. The residency will also initiate a small editorial zine documenting the research, alongside an open studio, talk and participatory ritual workshop.

Mathijs Hunfeld is a London-based interdisciplinary artist exploring the overlap between fine art and consumer culture. His practice interrogates
fantasy, desire, and identity, often recontextualising everyday objects to expose the tension between glorification and collapse in late capitalism. Through satire, irony, and
branded bodies of work, he critiques emotional dependencies and self-sabotaging behaviour in pop culture.
During his residency he will be developing a body of work titled WORLDWIDE, a series of sculptural and digital accessories that explore the paradox of global connectivity and individual isolation in contemporary culture.

Andrew Agutos is a Paris-based multidisciplinary artist whose work integrates abstract painting, cultural collaborations and Polaroid photos.
During his residency at art’otel, Agutos aims to develop a new series of introspective works on canvas. Each painting, individually titled with a stanza, will culminate in a continuous poem installed in the hotel’s gallery at the end of the residency.

Mia Wilkinson is a UK-based multidisciplinary artist whose practice interrogates Western constructions of the domestic female through painting, drawing, collage and rapidly produced sculptural forms.
During her residency Mia will treat the hotel as a site of temporary domesticity and a place of service, anonymity, confession, and ritual. In the heart of East London, where private lives and public performance constantly collide, she will develop a new body of paintings, drawings, and sculptural forms that respond to the hotel as both shelter and stage.
