Pop-up Exhibition: WE HAVEN’T LOCATED US YET
By Artist in Residence Mathijs Hunfeld
Across three interconnected chapters, WE HAVEN’T LOCATED US YET explores what happens to identity in an age shaped by systems, optimisation and endless connectivity. Here, the self no longer holds a fixed centre—dissolving instead into accumulation, disorientation and automated behaviour, where meaning is replaced by efficiency and identity lingers only as a residual trace.
Developed during Mathijs Hunfeld’s residency at art’otel London Hoxton, the work unfolds as a continuous screening situated within a game‑lobby environment. Visitors are invited to enter and exit at any point, encountering the work as an ongoing process rather than a linear narrative. Connection and isolation play out in real time, mirroring the fragmented rhythms of online spaces where presence is constant, yet belonging remains unstable.
The exhibition forms part of WORLDWIDE, an ongoing series examining how global connectivity compresses identity into standardised, reproducible forms.
Discover this pop-up exhibition in our gallery on 27 June.
